Microneedling

Collagen induction therapy for texture, pores, acne scarring, fine lines, and overall skin quality.

Microneedling for collagen induction

Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, uses a controlled device to create tiny channels in the skin. This controlled injury signals a healing response that supports collagen and elastin remodeling over time.

At luma rejuvenation, microneedling is performed with the DP4 microneedling device and planned around your skin concern, depth needed, recovery tolerance, pigment risk, and whether a combined treatment such as PRP/PRF or the luma Smooth + Brilliant Laser Stack is appropriate.

Best-fit skin concerns

Acne scars and texture

Microneedling can improve the appearance of acne scars, roughness, and uneven texture over a series of treatments.

Pores and fine lines

Collagen induction can make pores and fine lines look softer, especially when maintenance and home care are consistent.

Dull or uneven skin

Treatment can be paired with targeted serums, facials, or professional skin care to improve brightness and barrier health.

Combination rejuvenation

Patients with deeper texture, pigment, or collagen goals can discuss PRP/PRF, Clear + Brilliant, or a staged treatment plan.

What to expect

Appointment Skin assessment, cleansing, topical numbing, microneedling, and calming aftercare.
Comfort Numbing helps reduce discomfort. Sensation varies by area, depth, and individual sensitivity.
Recovery Redness, warmth, tightness, roughness, peeling, bruising, or pinpoint bleeding can occur.
Results Improvement is gradual because collagen remodeling takes time. A series is often recommended.

Your provider will give aftercare instructions, including when to pause active products such as retinoids or exfoliating acids and how to protect your skin from sun exposure while healing.

Candidacy, recovery, and safety

Microneedling is not ideal for every skin condition or in every situation. Treatment can be delayed for active infection, inflamed acne, open lesions, eczema flare, compromised barrier, recent isotretinoin use, a history of abnormal scarring, uncontrolled medical concerns, or medications that increase bleeding risk.

Microneedling cost and series planning

During your personalized consultation, the team can recommend a series based on your skin condition, treatment depth, whether PRP/PRF is added, and your maintenance goals. luma BRIGHT Membership members receive 10% off services and skin care products.

Microneedling FAQs

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients start with a series of three or more treatments, but acne scarring, pigment risk, sensitivity, and maintenance goals can change the plan.

Can microneedling be combined with PRP or PRF?

Yes, when appropriate. PRP/PRF uses a component of your own blood and can be paired with microneedling for skin rejuvenation plans.

Can I wear makeup after microneedling?

Most patients should wait at least 24 hours before makeup unless their provider gives different aftercare. Keep the skin clean and simple immediately after treatment.
