Radiesse

A regenerative injectable option for patients seeking firmer-looking skin, contour, and gradual collagen-focused improvement.

Radiesse for firmness and contour

Radiesse® is a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable. Depending on how it is prepared and placed, it can be used for structure, contour, and regenerative skin quality goals. It is different from hyaluronic acid filler and different from Sculptra. A consultation helps determine which option is appropriate for you.

At luma rejuvenation, Radiesse planning is based on anatomy, skin thickness, laxity, the degree of volume needed, and whether the goal is contour, firmer-looking skin, or a combination approach.

How Radiesse is used

Facial contour

Radiesse can be used for cheeks, jawline, chin, or lower-face structure when the tissue and goal are appropriate.

Skin quality

In some plans, Radiesse can be used in a more diluted approach to create firmer-looking skin quality over time.

Neck, hands, and other areas

Radiesse can be considered for hand rejuvenation, the Luma Neck Protocol, or other suitable areas after a provider assessment.

Combination planning

Your provider can compare Radiesse with hyaluronic acid filler, Sculptra, laser, and microneedling depending on the concern.

What to expect

Consultation Your provider reviews goals, skin quality, anatomy, and medical history.
Treatment The product is placed with technique and depth matched to the treatment plan.
Recovery Swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness, and temporary firmness can occur.
Results Some contour is visible early, with regenerative changes developing gradually.

Because Radiesse is not a hyaluronic acid filler, it is not dissolved in the same way. This makes product selection, conservative planning, and provider experience especially important.

Comfort and pain management

We take pain management seriously at luma, so you can feel relaxed during your appointment. We use a combination of techniques, including:

  • Topical numbing
  • Injectable numbing (lidocaine)
  • Pro Nox inhaled gas, to ease pain and treatment anxiety
  • Ice and vibrational tools

Talk with your provider about which combination is right for you.

Video transcript

Regenerative treatments at luma are an evolving area of cosmetic medicine. These treatments work differently than traditional fillers and are used to encourage your own tissues to support collagen-focused changes over time. The goal is a subtle, harmonious, longer-lasting and natural-looking result.

Candidacy, recovery, and safety

Radiesse is not recommended for patients with active infection or inflammation, certain allergies, bleeding concerns, a history of severe reactions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or treatment goals that would be better addressed with another modality. When appropriate, your provider may use facial ultrasound as an added planning and safety tool.

Radiesse pricing

Radiesse pricing is $879 + GST per syringe, and active luma BRIGHT members receive 10% off aesthetic services and skin care products. Your provider will confirm the estimate based on the amount used, area treated, and whether Radiesse is part of a staged plan. Results and duration vary, though some treatment plans may last around 1 to 2 years.

Radiesse FAQs

Is Radiesse right for lips or under eyes?

Radiesse is not used everywhere. Your provider will explain which areas are appropriate and when another option is safer or better suited.

How is Radiesse different from Sculptra?

Both can fit regenerative treatment goals, but they are different products with different preparation, placement, and timelines.

Can Radiesse be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Your provider can recommend wrinkle relaxants, hyaluronic acid filler, microneedling, laser, or skin care depending on the concern.
